Check out what BAM Magazine said about Squishs debut release Fig.1:
The name Squish might conjure up images of a band like the Melvins--or even worse, some Melvins-wannabes--who take three or four muddy chords in hand and then bash them straight into the ground. But this little story has a happy ending instead. Squish specialize in--to borrow a phrase--pure pop for now people, and this disc would be a perfect soundtrack for a drive up PCH in a convertible on a sunny day. Not that the lyrics are some kind of Pollyanna poop--"Rollercoaster Ride" opens with a guy whos in love with a girl then sees her get hit by a truck. Overall, this delectable pop will hit you with a satisfying gooseflesh thump.
