Maximum Plastic

Zoomer's Maximum Plastic owes a debt to T-Rex, Eno and other freaky titles;his music possesses those elements of cool that have made such contemporary artists as Beck and Folk Implosion the superstars that they are. His approach on Maximum Plastic (PHR-0013), has been labeled as "fuzz pop" by Philip Collier of Now Sounds Magazine. The opening cut, "Tickets To Mexico," produced by Jim Ebert (Jason Faulker, Bad Brains) is as icy as a blended Margarita. Zoomer's desert dry wit and baritone delivery float effortlessly on a sea of psychedelia. One listen to "Changing Lanes," produced by Gary Brandt (Beck, Red Hot Chili Peppers), will merge your mind into the fast lane and leave your body double parked. Accompanied by Max Trash (Drums), Jo-Jo Starr (Bass) and John Lovedog (Sax), Zoomer recorded Maximum Plastic in six days at Slider Studios in Hollywood, CA. It was financed on his girlfriend's Visa Card; after maxing out her card, the CD's title was born. "All we had left was enough for coffee and Suzie-Q's for the entire week." The result, according to Zoomer's therapist:
